Project Overview
Unified Building Group (UBG) was hired to perform pre-construction and construction management services to convert an old Macy’s retail center located at Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs. Unified completed the 63,000 Sqft project at break neck speed safely and on time for start of school.
Unified was responsible for all permitting coordination with both state and local government agencies, construct-ability, design-assist and bidding during the pre-construction phase as well as the the complete demolition and reconstruction of the previous Macy’s retail space that included intensive demolition of old offices, restrooms, changing rooms, display cases, ancillary mill work, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural (MEPS), fire suppression and alarm systems (FA/FS). UBG managed and constructed the complete new MEPS, FA/FS critical infrastructure to accommodate a brand new K-6 charter school that included new classrooms, multipurpose rooms, food preparatory, administration and shared team centers.
With support from the entire community. Colorado Springs Economic Development Board, Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, State of Colorado Electrical and Plumbing Divisions, Coperni 3 Faculty and staff, UBG and their trade partners successfully opened on time for start of school year safely.
